Everton midfielder, Abdoulaye Doucoure is in 'Advanced
Talks' to join Saudi Pro League side Al-Shabab on a free transfer at the end of
his contract on Merseyside, according to Scouts
in Attendance.
The Mali International's contract is due to expire in the summer after 5 seasons with the Toffees after arriving from Watford for £25 million in 2020.
The 32-year-old has come up with some memorable moments in blue, perhaps the most important being his strike against Bournemouth on the final day of the 2022/23 season to keep his side in the Premier League.
However, with Everton moving to their new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock next season, they may be looking for a fresh start, leaving players like Doucoure without a contract offer on the table from the club.
His importance to Everton and the way they play cannot be understated. But similar players with incredibly expensive contracts should be kept as far away from Everton as possible in the future unless they have the quality to show for it.
This looks to be the start of an already hectic summer for the Blues.
